Sun Record company was founded by Sam Phillips ( shown below) in Memphis, Tennessee. Sun Records helped launch the careers of Elvis Presley, Johnny
Cash, Carl Perkins, and Roy Orbison. It was Sun record producer and engineer,
Jack Clement, who discovered and recorded Jerry Lee Lewis. The original Sun
Record logo was designed by a Memphis resident and high school classmate
of Phillips.
