Dave Garroway was the founding host of NBC’s Today from 1952 to 1961. It
was the first and longest-running early-morning network show. His co-host was
a feisty, scene stealing chimp, named J. Fred Muggs (shown above).

The actor and producer Harrison Ford is famous for his performances as Han Solo
in the original Star Wars trilogy and as the title character of the Indiana Jones film
series. Ford is also known for his roles as Rick Deckard in the 1982 Ridley Scott
film Blade Runner, Jack Ryan in Patriot Games (1992) and Clear and Present
Danger
(1994). His four-decade career also includes his role as Dr. Richard Kimble
in the Hollywood blockbuster The Fugitive (1993). In 1997, Ford was ranked No.1 in
Empires’ "The Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time" list.

PAUL ANKA WITH THE #1 SONG ON THIS DATE IN 1959
