Cavalcade of America is an anthology drama series that documented historical
events and occasionally presented a musical, such as an adaptation of Show 
Boat. The show was sponsored by the DuPont Company and debuted on 
Wednesday October 9, 1935 and ran till March 31, 1953. DuPont’s motto,
"Maker of better things for better living through chemistry," was read at the  
beginning of each program. It featured numerous Broadway and Hollywood
stars. The show was also on CBS television from 1952 to 1957.
