SS Andrea Doria was an ocean liner for the Italian Line out of Genoa,
Italy. The ship capsized and sank on 26 July 1956 after colliding with
the MS Stockholm as it was en route to New York.
Of the nearly

                       Franklin Joseph "Frankie" Lymon

                 (September 30, 1942 – February 27, 1968)

Frankie Lymon was best known as the lead singer of the rock and roll
group, The Teenagers. Their first single in 1956, “Why Do Fools Fall
In Love”, was also their biggest hit.

Lymon died of a heroin overdose at age 25 in his grandmother’s New
York home. He was on leave from a Georgia army post at the time and
was scheduled to record for Roulette Records the next day. Lymon’s
short life inspired the 1998 film, Why Do Fools Fall In Love?
