Adrian Cronauer is a former U.S. Air Force sergeant and radio personality whose experiences as a popular Armed Forces Radio Service deejay in Vietnam inspired
the 1987 film
Good Morning, Vietnam, starring Robin Williams. Cronauer co-wrote
the original story for the film. He was based in Saigon from 1965 to 1966. He called
his program the “Dawn Buster”.

Cronauer earned a master’s degree in Media Studies from the New School for
Social
Research
in New York City and a law degree from the University of
Pennsylvania
. His practice concentrated on information and communications
law. He was also the head of an advertising agency and later worked as a
special assistant to the Director of the Defense Prisoner of War/Missing
Personnel Office. Cronauer will turn 74 in September.
