On January 5, 1958, Coral Records released what would prove to be
Buddy Holly‘s last record before his death in a plane crash on February
3, 1959. "It Doesn’t Matter Anymore", which was one of the few songs
that Buddy recorded that he didn’t write himself. It was penned by Paul
Anka. The pop ballad reached #13 as a posthumous hit on the Billboard
Hot 100 charts in early 1959. The single was backed with “Raining In My
Heart”.
