The teenage tragedy song was written by Jean Dinning and her
husband, Red Surrey.

Dinning’s addiction to alcohol eventually ended his career. He would show
up at appearances too intoxicated to perform causing promoters to stop
booking him and he eventually faded from public view. Denning died from
a heart attack on March 22, 1986 in Jefferson City, Missouri. He was 52.

    J. Cool here with a question for all PDX Retro readers
to ponder????? Which popular female singer used to
babysit Mark and his twin sisters back in the day? Think about it. If no one comes up with the answer in
a couple of days I will reveal who she was! Good luck!
