John Lennon was suffering from a cold at the time “Twist and
Shout” was recorded and was drinking milk and sucking on
cough drops to soothe his throat. Producer George Martin,
feeling John’s voice would suffer from the performance,
had the band record the song last, with only 15 minutes
of scheduled recording time left.
