"Surf City", written by Jan Berry and Brian Wilson, became the first surf
song to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in July of 1963. It
stayed on top for two weeks and crossed over to #3 on Billboard’s
R&B charts.
Dean Torrance became 73 March 10 (Jan died December 19, 2004)
