Clara Peller (August 4, 1902 – August 11, 1987), was a retired manicurist
and character actress
Clara was first seen by TV viewers in the "Where’s the Beef?" commercial campaign
for Wendy’s chain of hamburger restaurants. In 2011, Wendy’s revived the phrase
for its new ad campaign, finally answering its own question with "Here’s the beef”.
Just one week after celebrating her 85th birthday, Clara passed away and for the last 25 + years, she has been serving on the “retired” members board of the USDA Beef Council in heaven! We miss you Clara!
