Harold (Hal) Peary ( born José Pereira de Faria in California) 
(July 25, 1908 – March 30, 1985)

The Great Gildersleeve is a radio situation comedy broadcast from August 
31, 1941, to March 21, 1957. Initially written by Leonard Lewis Levinson, it 
was one of broadcast history’s earliest spin-off programs. The series was
built around the character Throckmorton P. Gildersleeve, a regular on the
radio situation comedy Fibber McGee and Molly. The original Gildersleeve
was played by Hal Peary (above).

Kitty Wells (born Ellen Muriel Deason in Nashville, Tennessee)
(August 30, 1919 – July 16, 2012)

Known as The Queen of Country Music, she chartered numerous singles,
including "It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels. In 1976, she was
inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. In 1991, she became the third
country music artist, after Roy Acuff and Hank Williams, and the eighth woman
to receive the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Her accomplishments
earned her the nickname Queen of Country Music.

HORROR MOVIE MAKER HAS DEAD AT 76

Wesley Earl "Wes" Craven (August 2, 1939 – August 30, 2015)

LOS ANGELES (AP) –  Wes Craven, the prolific writer-director who thrilled
audiences with iconic and bloody suburban slashers like "Nightmare on Elm
Street" and "Scream" that made his name synonymous with horror, has died.

In a statement, Craven’s family said that he died in his Los Angeles home
Sunday, surrounded by family, after battling brain cancer.

A prolific writer, director and editor, Craven is credited with reinventing the
teen horror genre with the 1984 release of "A Nightmare on Elm Street"
starring a then-unknown Johnny Depp.

Oliver Wolf Sacks (July 9, 1933 – August 30, 2015)

(FoxNews) – Oliver Sacks, the eminent neurologist and acclaimed best-
selling author, died Sunday of cancer at his home in New York City.

His career included a number of hugely popular books, including
“Awakenings” (1990) which became an Academy Award-nominated
movie starring Robin Williams and Robert De Niro.
