James Wilkes Noble (March 5, 1922 – March 28, 2016)
Actor James Noble, best known for his portrayal of the sweet-
natured but naive Governor on ABC’s 1980s sitcom Benson,
died on Monday in Connecticut. A spokesman for Noble’s
family said that the actor had suffered a stroke the week
prior to his death.
