ALBUM RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1958

Buddy Holly is a studio album by Buddy Holly. It was recorded April 8,
1957 to January 26, 1958 in Clovis, New Mexico and New York City. It
was released by Coral Records. The album collects Holly’s four hit
singles released on the Coral label; "Words of Love", "Peggy Sue",
"I’m Gonna Love You Too", and "Rave On!". The backing group was
Buddy Holly’s current band, the Crickets. This was Buddy’s first official
solo album.

‘’THE FIRST OVAL OFFICE’’ GOES ON DISPLAY

(FoxNews) – A stunning artifact from the Revolutionary War – General George Washington’s field tent – will go on display when the Museum of the American
Revolution opens its doors in April.

Dubbed “the first Oval Office,” the canvas tent will be the cornerstone of the Philadelphia-based Museum’s collection of approximately 3,000 Revolutionary
War-era artifacts.

The museum’s opening on April 19 will be the first time in decades that the tent
has been on public display.

Washington’s Birthday is a United States federal holiday celebrated on the
third Monday of February in honor of George Washington, the first President
of the United States, who was born on February 22, 1732. It can occur on the
15th through the 21st of February. The day is also now widely known as
Presidents’ Day and is often an occasion to honor all persons who have
served as president, not just George Washington. It is a state holiday in
most states.

Sir Sidney Poitier is 90 years old today.

Sidney Poitier spent time working as a dishwasher while his friends assisted
him in learning how to read the newspaper and speak without a Bahamian
accent.

The American Film Institute called him one of the 25 Greatest Male Stars of
All Time in 1999.
