FORMER RACE CAR DRIVER A.J. FOYT IS 76

 A.J. Foyt then
A. J. (Anthony Joseph) Foyt is the first driver to win the Indianapolis 500 four
times. In 1960 he scored his first professional victory in a U.S. Automobile
Club (USAC) midget car race in Kansas City, Mo.
 Foyt has been inducted
into numerous motorsports halls of fame. Since his retirement from
active racing, he has owned A. J. Foyt Enterprises, which has teams
in CART, IRL, and NASCAR.

January 20, 1953. He died in Kansas City, MO. at the
age of 88.

IT WAS A SATURDAY NIGHT SPECIAL!

This Western drama started on radio beginning Saturday,
April 26, 1952 and ran till June 18, 1961. It was heard
on the CBS radio network(KOIN in Portland). The cast
included William Conrad as Marshal Matt Dillon, Howard
McNear as Doc Charles Adams,Georgia Ellis as Kitty
Russell, and Parley Baer as Dillon’s Deputy Chester
Proudfoot. The first episode was titled,”Billy The Kid”.
The show was set in Dodge City, Kansas during the
1870’s.
