FAMOUS CROSSING ON THIS DATE IN 1776
Gen. George Washington and his Continental Army crossed the Delaware
River as part of a surprise attack against Hessian forces who were
encamped at Trenton, New Jersey during the Revolutionary War.The
Hessian’s were regiments of German soldiers hired by the British Empire.
