A FIRST FOR OREGON ON THIS DATE IN 1919

 gas tax

Oregon was the first state in the U.S. to place a tax on gasoline.  It
started at 1 cent per gallon.

Your Show of Shows was a live 90-minute NBC-TV variety show appearing
weekly on Saturday nights from February 25, 1950 until June 5, 1954. It
featured Sid Caesar and Imogene Coca (shown above). Other featured
performers were Carl Reiner, Howard Morris, and Nanette Fabray.
