Elvis Presley is pictured here meeting with reporters at Fort Dix Army Base in
New Jersey after being honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant. The
train that carried him from the Army base in New Jersy to Tennessee was
mobbed all the way, and Presley was called upon to appear at scheduled
stops to please his fans. Elvis was drafted into the Army for active duty on
March 24,1958.
