Actor Burt Ward is best known for his portrayal of Robin in the ABC television
series Batman (1966 – 1968. He auditioned for the part at the age of 20.

 

This song was written and arranged by Frank Zappa, featuring
Burt Ward as Robin
. It was released in November of 1966.

THE ESSEX HAD #1 ON THIS DATE IN 1963

The Essex was a R&B group formed in 1962.The founding members were with
the U.S. Marine Corps stationed in Okinawa, Japan. The female lead singer,
Anita Humes, was also a Marine. Three months after "Easier Said Than Done"
reached #1 , the group had a #12 hit with the follow-up song, "A Walkin’ Miracle"
in September 1963.

LOUIS ARMSTRONG (AUG. 4, 1901 – JULY 6, 1971)

Louis Armstrong, who lead the Billboard Hot 100 with "Hello Dolly" in
1964, died of heart failure at the age of 69. His often played rendition
of "What A Wonderful World" reached #32 in 1988 when it was used
in the 1987 movie Good Morning, Vietnam starring Robin Williams. In
1990 Louis Armstrong was induced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
