FIRST ELVIS RECORD AIRED ON THIS DATE IN 1954
Memphis pioneer disc jockey Dewey Phillips of WHBQ became the first D.J. to play a young Elvis Presley’s debut record on the Sun label, "That’s All Right/Blue Moon Of Kentucky".

These are The Platters today with the last original member, Monroe Powell (left)
who sang led with the early group. The others are Kenni Jaye, Inez Zak and Don
