Reeves
R&B and Pop singer Martha Rose Reeves was the lead singer of the
Motown singing group Martha and the Vandellas. The group scored
over a dozen hit’s, including “Jimmy Mack” (1967), “Dancin’ in the
Street” (1964), and “Nowhere to Run” (1965). Reeves served as an
elected councilwoman for the city of Detroit, Michigan from 2005 to
2009.
