The longest-serving host of The Tonight Show to date was Johnny Carson, who 
hosted NBCs late-night talk show for 30 seasons, from Monday October 1, 1962 
to May 22, 1992 when he retired. Due to his success on Who Do You Trust?,  
Carson was asked by NBC to host the Tonight Show several months before 
the departure of then host, Jack Paar. Ed McMahon followed Carson from Who  
Do You Trust? as his announcer and sidekick on the show which became The
Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.

Inspired by the dreams of Walt Disney, who wanted a theme park on the East
Coast to complement Disneyland in California, Walt Disney World Resort opened
on Friday October 1, 1971. The 30,080-acre park It is located approximately 21
miles southwest of Orlando, Florida and is now the world’s largest and most
visited recreational resort.

Film, television and stage actress Stella Stevens began her acting career in
1959. she starred in such films as The Nutty Professor (1963), The Courtship
of Eddie’s Father (1963), and The Poseidon Adventure (1972). Stella is also
a producer and director of films. In 1960, Stevens was Playboy magazine’s
Playmate of the Month for January. She was also among the ten most
photographed women in the world.
