TREATY SIGNED ON THIS DATE IN 1963

The treaty banning nuclear weapon tests in the atmosphere, in outer space and
under water, often referred to as Nuclear Test Ban Treaty (NTBT). It was signed
by the governments of the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, and by the United
States. The treaty was signed by President John F. Kennedy on Monday October
7, 1963 and went into effect on October 10th.

Al Martino (born Jasper Cini) was a singer and actor who obtained his
greatest success in the early 1950s and mid 1970s. He was described
as being “one of the greatest Italian American pop crooners”. His acting
career included a well remembered role as singer Johnny Fontane in
Francis Ford Coppola’s epic crime film The Godfather (1972).
