The Phil Donahue Show was a syndicated television talk show that ran for 26
years on national television from Monday November 6, 1967 until September
13, 1996. The national run was preceded by three years of local broadcast on
WLWD (now WDTN) in Dayton, Ohio. The first guest on the show was known
atheist Madalyn Murray O’Hair. In 2002, the program was ranked #29 on TV
Guide’s 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time.
