I Love A Mystery
is considered by many to be the greatest radio adventure serial 
of all time. The show was written and directed by Carlton E. Morse and first aired 
on the NBC West Coast network from Monday, January 16, 1939, weekdays at 
3:15pm Pacific time. It went full NBC network coast to coast from October 2, 1939 
March 29, 1940.

The central characters are, Jack Packard (played by Michael Raffetto), Doc Long 
(portrayed by Jim Boles) and Reggie York.The three men first met as mercenary 
soldiers fighting the Japanese in China. They meet again in San Francisco and
decide to form the  A-1 Detective Agency.

Born Woodward Maurice Ritter (January 12, 1905 – January 2, 1974)

Tex Ritter, was a country music singer and movie actor, popular from the mid-1930s
into the 1960s. Ritter did his last recording session for Capitol Records in 1973. He
had a heart attack and died in Nashville, ten days before his 69th birthday. He is
the father of actor John Ritter who died in 2003 at the age of 54.
