DAVID SEVILLE

David Seville (Ross Bagdasarian)  January 27, 1919 – January 16, 1972

Seville was a pianist, singer/songwriter, actor and record producer. He provided
the voices of the cartoon characters the Chipmunks. He also recorded the #1
hit “Witch Doctor” in 1958.

Seville played minor roles in films, the best known of which is his appearance in
Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 murder mystery Rear Window Starring James Stewart,
where he portrays a piano-playing songwriter living in the apartment complex
depicted in the film. David Seville died just days short of his 53 birthday.

CHIPMUNKS

Seville created the the voices of the Chipmunks using various recording
techniques.
