The British ocean liner RMS Titanic sank at 2:27 a.m. on Monday, April 15, 1912
in the North Atlantic Ocean after hitting an iceberg the previous evening. The ship
was on its maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York. A total 1,514
people died. It is listed as one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in
history.

This iceberg was photographed by the chief steward of the liner Prinze Adelbert on
the morning of April 15, 1912, just south of where the Titanic sank.. What caught his attention was the smear of red paint along the base of the berg.

Ray Kroc, in Des Plaines, Illinois, on April 15, 1955. It is the
ninth McDonald’s restaurant overall.

The oldest operating McDonald’s restaurant in Downey, California opened
in 1953. It was the third one built.

         Hans Georg Conried, Jr. (April 15, 1917 – January 5, 1982)

Hans Conried was an comedian, character actor and popular voice actor who 
appeared regularly on many radio shows during the 1940s and 1950s, notably 
the George Burns & Gracie Allen Show, on which he played a psychiatrist. His 
many television guest appearances included such shows as The Monkees
and I Love Lucy. Conried also was a cast member of The Rocky and Bullwinkle
Show
, voicing the character of Snidely Whiplash in the Dudley Do-Right
shorts. He also hosted Fractured Flickers, a live-action syndicated half-hour
television comedy show .Critics regarded Conried as one of the great comic
character actors.
