Jim Marshall, the founder of Marshall guitar amplifiers in 1962, died today at the
age of 88. He had recently suffered several strokes and developed cancer at
the end of last year. Early users of his amplifiers include Jimi Hendrix, Pete
Townshend, and Jimmy Page.
