Gordon Cooper, Jr.

The spacecraft, named Faith 7, piloted by astronaut Gordon Cooper completed 22
Earth orbits traveling 593,885 miles in 34 hours, 20 minutes. The mission was to
determine the effects of extended spaceflight on man. The spacecraft and with
its pilot was recovered only 36 minutes after splashdown in the Pacific Ocean.
