My Friend Flicka aired on CBS from 1956 to 1957, then ran on
NBC, with reruns on ABC and CBS between 1959 and 1966. It
starred Johnny Washbrook as Ken McLaughlin, a boy devoted
to his horse Flicka. Washbrook appeared on several TV shows
after the series ended, and acted into the 1970s then went into
banking.

Don Lee Wilson was born in Tacoma, Washington and is a founding
member of the instrumental rock-and-roll group The Ventures.

The Ventures “Walk-Don’t Run” is believed to be one of the
first surfing songs to make the Billboard Hot 100 chart. It
peaked at #2.
