MAGAZINE PIONEER HAS DIED AT 74

UNION, Maine (AP) — Judith Glassman, first woman to serve as the
top editor of Life magazine has died at her home in Maine.

Daniels blazed a trail for women in the publishing world. She served
in senior editing positions at The Village Voice, New York magazine,
Time Inc. and Conde Nast over a career that spanned 35 years in
New York. Her husband, Lee Webb, says she died from stomach
cancer on Sunday, September 1st.

Her family is planning an October memorial service.
