Michael Edward "Mike" Love is an original member of The Beach Boys,
formerly The Pendleton’s (1958-1961), which he helped found. He still
actively writes, records, and performs with the band to this day.

Cool here to bring the two worlds of music and sports together for a moment. Did you know that Mike Love is also the older brother of Stan Love, former University of Oregon Duck and retired NBA basketball player? Yes, it is true! While Mike was entertaining us as a Beach Boy, his younger brother. was growing to the height of 6′ 9″ and seeking his fame and fortune on the hardwoods of the NBA! This would also make Mike the uncle of Stan’s son, Kevin. Kevin of course is the power forward for the NBA’s Minnesota Timberwolves. Kevin grew up in the Portland suburb of Lake Oswego and led L. O. Lakers to the 2006 Oregon class 6A state basketball championship. A happy birthday to you Mike from your fans here at PDX Retro!
