FIRST CARTOON TO WIN A PULITZER PRIZE

On the Road to Moscow

The cartoon, "On the Road to Moscow," by Rollin Kirby (above) won a Pulitzer
Prize on this day in 1922. It was the first cartoon awarded the Pulitzer, an honor
that Kirby would receive three times.

Raymond William Stacey Burr
(May 21, 1917 – September 12, 1993)

Burr Portrayed the title role on the CBS television series, Perry Mason
(1957-1966) and Ironside on NBC (1967-1975). He is also known for
playing the killer in Alfred Hitchcock’s 1954 classic thriller, Rear Window.
