James Garner (James Scott Bumgarner; April 7, 1928 – July 19, 2014)

Garner was an award-winning American film and television actor. He starred
in several television series spanning a career of more than five decades
which included such popular roles as Bret Maverick in the 1950s western
comedy series, Maverick, and Jim Rockford in the 1970s detective drama,
The Rockford Files

According to police, an ambulance was dispatched to Garner’s Brentwood,
Los Angeles
home at around 8 p.m. on July 19, 2014. Garner was confirmed
dead when paramedics arrived at his home. The cause of death was not
immediately reported but initial law enforcement officers on the scene
declared "natural causes" as the cause of death.

    Cool here and it is a sad day for all James Garner fans and you can include me in that long list. He was a favorite of mine from the early days of “Maverick” and I especially liked the “Rockford Files”! It wasn’t your typical detective show. On a personal note, when Mrs. Cool first came to the US from Guatemala, she worked for James and whenever we would see him on TV she would comment to me on how kind he always was to her and how much he loved her cooking!
