SINGLE RECORDED ON THIS DAY IN 1959
The Everly Brothers recorded "Let It Be Me" in New York City, the first time
they recorded outside of Nashville. Among the back up musicians was Jerry
Allison who had been the drummer with singer Buddy Holly’s Crickets. The
song reached the 7th position on the Billboard Hot 100.

Comedian and actor,Tim Conway is best known for his role as the inept Ensign
Charles Parker in the 1960s situation comedy, McHale’s Navy on ABC, and for
his sketch comedy as a co-star on the 1970s CBS variety program, The Carol
Burnett Show.
