Shirley Jones and Gordon MacRae in “Oklahoma”

Albert Gordon MacRae (March 12, 1921 – January 24, 1986)

Actor and singer Gordon MacRae is best known for his roles in the 
versions of two Rodgers and Hammerstein musicals, Oklahoma!
(1955) and Carousel (1956), and playing Bill Sherman in On
Moonlight Bay (1951) and for his appearance in By The Light
of the Silvery Moon (1953). He made his Broadway debut in
1942 and acquired his first recording contract soon afterwards.

Before fame, MacRae served as a navigator in the United States
Army Air Forces during World War ll.
