A SPECIAL DAY FOR SOME

april-fools-day-graphic1

The earliest recorded association between April 1 and some of the jokes, hoaxes,
and pranks of the day can be found in Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales (1392).

Some writers suggest that the restoration of January 1 as New Year’s Day in the
16th century was responsible for the holiday’s creation, but this theory does not
explain the existence of some earlier references.

The Real Son Steele, the best disc jockey to ever spin a record, would of been 79 years young today! No foolin’! TRDS passed August 5th 1997 at the age of 61 from lung cancer. Don had quit smokinng ten years before. TRDS worked here in Portland from July 1963 to August 1964 before moving on to KEWB in San Francisco for seven months. Then it was on to Los Angeles and KHJ where “Boss Radio” began! Happy birthday RDS! You fun lovin’ sun devil!
