The movie King Kong premiered in the Radio City Music Hall and
RKO Roxy in New York City on March 2, 1933. U. S. President
Franklin D. Roosevelt declared the four-day nationwide bank
holiday three days after the film’s premiere in New York City.
The film was a box-office success and during the opening
weekend earned an estimated $90,000.
