Actress, singer and writer, Mae West, whose provocative persona
and sex-tinged one-liners were showcased in Broadway and film
roles. Her career spanned more than seven decades.

In 1999, the American Film Institute ranked her 15th among the
greatest female screen legends of classic American cinema.
