REMINDER FROM THE PDX RETRO BLOG

Sept. 25 has been declared Dolly Parton Day, a celebration timed to the date's nod to Parton's beloved hit song, "9 to 5."

September 25 was officially proclaimed and celebrated
as
Dolly Parton Day across numerous U.S. states, cities,
and municipalities in honor of the late country music icon.

The "Queen of Country" died after a "brief battle" with
cancer on August 25, at age 80.

A new Dolly Parton mural sits in Nashville's Capitol View neighborhood. The mural is the newest additional to the "Music City Heaven" mural which is located in the tunnel that connects the North Gulch Greenway to Frankie Pierce Park. The mural is located at 1010 Gay St, Nashville, TN 37203. (Photo: FOX 17 News)
