“Nel blu dipinto di blu” (“In the blue, painted blue”), popularly known as
“Volare” is Domenico Modugno’s signature song. It became the first
Grammy winner for the Grammy Award for Song of the Year in 1958. It
is the only foreign-language record to achieve the honor. The song spent
five non-consecutive weeks atop the Hot 100 and was Billboard’s number-
one single for the year. It was one of three one-hit wonders to become
single of the year in the history of the Hot 100.

“Brandy” topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for one week and stayed
16 weeks among the best-sellers. It was their only million seller and
received a gold disc from the R.I.A.A. in 1972.  Looking Glass still
performs several shows each year, typically with at least one show
in Michigan.
