signature song. It spent three weeks at the number-one spot on
the Billboard Hot 100 and number nineteen on the R&B charts. The
song was positioned at # 444 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest

"A Big Hunk o’ Love" was recorded by Elvis Presley on June 10,
1958 in RCA’s Nashville studio, while he was on leave from the
U.S. Army. The song was reportedly recorded in four takes, the
released version was actually spliced from takes three and four.
