DANNY THOMAS WAS BORN ON THIS DATE IN 1912

The career of comedian Danny Thomas began on radio in the 1940’s
playing the brother-in-law Amos on The Bickersons with stars Don
Ameche and Francis Langford. Danny is best know for the TV sitcom
The Danny Thomas Show (Make Room for Daddy). It ran from 1953 to 
1957 on ABC and on CBS from 1957 to 1964. Thomas is the founder
of ST. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. He died on February 6,
1991 of heart failure.

MISTER ED DEBUTED ON THIS DATE IN 1961

The sitcom was in syndication until July 2, 1961. It then aired on CBS-TV
from October 1, 1961 until February 6, 1966. The show starred Alan
Young as Wilbur Post and Connie Hines as his wife Carol Post. The
horse (Mister Ed) was a Palomino and was voiced by former western 
film star Allan Lane.

The  NBC Television  version of BLONDIE premiered on  this date
in 1957. The sitcom starred (above) Arthur Lake as Dagwood
Bumstead and Pamela Britton as his wife Blondie. The show had
a short run till July 5, 1957.

TV SHOW INSPIRED BY I LOVE LUCY

My Little Margie premiered on CBS as a summer sitcom replacement   
for I love Lucy in 1952, sponsored by Philip Morris cigarettes.The show
alternated TV networks between CBS and NBC until the final episode 
aired in 1955.

THE BOB CUMMINGS SHOW DEBUTED ON THIS DATE IN 1955

Bob Cummings (center) played Hollywood playboy 
photographer Bob Collins, his sister Margaret was
Rosemary De Camp (seated right), secretary “Schultzy”
was played by Ann B. Davis (standing left) and as Bob’s
nephew “Chuck” was Dwayne Hickman (standing right). 
The NBC-TV sitcom aired until 1959. The Executive
Producer of the show was George Burns.
