JOHN FOGERTY IS 71 TODAY


John Cameron Fogerty was born in Berkeley, California.

John Fogerty was a singer and guitarist for Creedence Clearwater Revival, the
band that released hits like "I Put a Spell on You" and "Lodi." Fogerty later
pursued a successful solo career. One of his first bands was called The
Blue Velvets. He is listed on Rolling Stone’s list of 100 Greatest Guitarists
and 100 Greatest Singers.

Engelbert Humperdinck (born Arnold George Dorsey in India)

English singer Engelbert Humperdinck biggest hit was "Release Me" in
1967 and who also sang "The Last Waltz” on 1967. He started recording 
after he was discharged from the British Army and signed with Decca
Records in 1958. He took on the name Engelbert Humperdinck after the
famed German composer (shown below).

Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show appeared on the cover of "Rolling Stone."

Dr. Hook & the Medicine Show, shortened in 1975 to Dr. Hook, was a rock band,
formed around Union City, New Jersey. They enjoyed considerable success in the
1970s with hits including "Sylvia’s Mother", "The Cover of Rolling Stone", "Sharing
the Night Together
", "A Little Bit More" and "When You’re in Love with a Beautiful Woman". In addition to their own material, Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show
performed songs written by the poet Shel Silverstein.

SINGER MIKE LOVE IS 75 TODAY


Michael Edward "Mike" Love was born in Los Angeles,
California
.

Singer and songwriter Mike Love is a member of the iconic surfer
rock band The Beach Boys. They became known for such hit songs
as "Surfin’ U.S.A." and "Good Vibrations." He attended Dorsey High
School and later helped found the band The Pendeltones, which
went on to become The Beach Boys.
