MUSICIAN HAS DIED AT 74

Leon Russell (Claude Russell Bridges)
(April 2, 1942 – November 13, 2016)

Russell was an musician and songwriter, who recorded as
a session musician/sideman, and maintained a solo career.

He was primarily a keyboard player for Joe Crocker, Bob
Dylan, the Beach Boys and many other artists. John Lennon,
George Harrison and Ringo Starr played on Russells’ solo
debut, "Leon Russell."

Russell had heart bypass surgery in July and was recovering
from the procedure at the time of his death in Nashville.

LEGENDARY ENTERTAINER HAS DIED AT 82

Leonard Norman Cohen (September 21 – November 10, 2016)

DEVELOPING: (FoxNews) – Influential singer-songwriter Leonard Cohen best
known for his song “hallelujah” has died according to a statement posted on
his Facebook page today.

The statement read, “It is with profound sorrow we report that legendary poet,
songwriter and artist, Leonard Cohen has passed away,” “We have lost one
of music’s most revered and prolific visionaries.”

According to the statement a memorial will take place in Los Angeles at a later
date.

FORMER ATTORNEY GENERAL HAS DIED

Janet Wood Reno
(July 21, 1938 – November 7, 2016)

MIAMI (AP) –  Janet Reno, the first woman to serve as U.S. attorney general
and the epicenter of several political storms during the Clinton administration,
has died. She was 78.

According to her goddaughter, Reno died early Monday from complications
of Parkinson’s disease. She spent her final days at home in Miami surrounded
by family and friends.

Janet Reno was unmarried and had no children. She was diagnosed with
Parkinson’s in 1995.

Appointed by Gov. Reubin Askew on Jan. 4, 1978, Janet Reno
served for 15 years as Dade County State Attorney before
becoming the nation’s first woman Attorney General."

REMEMBERING JOEY MARTIN FEEK


Joey Martin Feek (September 9, 1975 – March 4, 2016)

INDIANAPOLIS (USA Today) — A public memorial service for
country music artist Joey Martin Feek will be held Sunday in
the Alexandria-Monroe High School gymnasium. Feek was a
native of Alexandria and died in her family home March 4,
at the age of 40 following a two-and-a-half year struggle
with cancer. The service will be hosted by Bill and Gloria
Gaither, gospel musicians and family friends of Feek’s.

kind. We all will miss that sweet, transparent spirit.”

CANCER TAKES DAVID BOWIE AT 69


David Bowie (David Robert Jones) (January 8, 1947 – January 10, 2016)

NEW YORK (AP) — David Bowie, the other-worldly musician who broke pop
and rock boundaries with his creative musicianship, nonconformity, striking
visuals and a genre-spanning persona he christened Ziggy Stardust, died
of cancer Sunday. He was 69 and had just released a new album.

Representative Stave Martin said Bowie, whose hits included "Fame,"
”Heroes" and "Let’s Dance," died "peacefully" and was surrounded
by family. He had fought cancer for 18 months.
