RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1967

The song “I Second That Emotion” peaked for three weeks 
at #4 on the Billboard pop singles chart in December 1967.

It became the Miracles highest charting popular single since
"Shop Around" and also topped the Billboard Black Singles
Chart
and was a million-seller hit for The Miracles, their sixth

The song "To Know Him Is to Love Him" was written by Phil Spector, inspired
by words on his father’s tombstone, "To Know Him Was To Love Him." It was
first recorded by the only vocal group of which he was a member, the Teddy
Bears
. Their recording spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100
singles chart in 1958.

SINGLE RELEASED ON THIS DAY IN 1967

The song "People Are Strange" was released by The Doors from their second
album Strange Days which was also released in September 1967. The single
peaked at the number 12 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and made it
to the top ten in the Cash Box charts. It was written by Jim Morrison and Robby
Krieger
although credit was given to The Doors.

The song "More Than a Feeling" was written by Tom Scholz and released
by the rock band Boston as the lead single from their self-titled debut album
on Epic Records with "Smokin’" on the flipside. The single peaked at number
five on the Billboard Hot 100. The song is now a staple of classic rock and in
1999 it was named the 39th best hard rock song of all time by VH1.

The song "Yesterday" by the Beatles was written by Paul McCartney
(credited to
Lennon–McCartney). It topped the Billboard chart in
October.
