arrested in London, England, and charged with the assassination
of African American civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr. on
April 4, 1968. in Memphis, Tennessee.

On this day in 1967, Israeli airplanes attacked the USS Liberty in the Mediterranean during the 6-Day War between Israel and its Arab neighbors. 34 U.S. Navy crewmen were killed. Israel later called the incident a tragic mistake in identifying the ship. The U.S. has never publicly investigated the incident.

Frank Lloyd Wright was an American architect, interior designer, writer
and educator, who designed more than 1,000 structures, 532 of which
were completed. Wright believed in designing structures that were in
harmony with humanity and its environment, a philosophy he called
organic architecture. His creative period spanned more than 70 years
and was recognized in 1991 by the
American Institute of Architects as
"the greatest American architect of all time".

with an original death toll cited at about 700. Information received
later indicated that the death toll may have been 3 to 4 times the

On this day in 1775, American revolutionaries Paul Revere, William Dawes and Samuel Prescott rode though towns in Massachusetts
giving the warning that the Regulars were coming out. Later, the
phrase "the British are coming" was attributed to Revere even
though it is unlikely he used that wording.

became a member of the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984 and, in 2011,
he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  On January 22,
Neil Diamond
announced he would be retiring from touring due to his
recent diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.

Scott Pruett - racer, book writer and winemaker

Scott Donald Pruett will be 58 years old March 24.

(AP) – American motorsports legend Scott Pruett will hang up his fire suit for the
last time after the Rolex 24 at Daytona this month.

The 57-year-old started racing karts at age eight and hasn’t stopped since. His
near five-decade career has spanned NASCAR, Indy car and most notably
sports car racing, where he found the most success.

Besides being a race car driver, Scott is a successful vineyard
owner and children’s book author.
