A TV SPECIAL ON THIS DAY IN 1960

The TVSpecial "The Frank Sinatra Timex Special – Welcome Home Elvis”
was recorded on March 26th 1960 for the May 12 broadcast. It was the
first televised appearance of Elvis since coming home from his military
service
in Germany. The show was recorded in Black and White, since
ABC-TV didn’t start using until 1962.

Barbra Streisand

Barbra Streisand’s Second TV Special, "Color Me Barbra” Coincided with
the release of her new album by the same name. It was filmed largely at
the Philadelphia Museum of Art over one weekend during off-hours. A big
difference from the first special was that this one was in color.
