Nancy Sandra Sinatra was born in Jersey City, New Jersey.

Nancy Sinatra recorded the hit songs "These Boots Are Made for Walkin’"
and "Sugar Town," she is the daughter of famous crooner Frank Sinatra,
they recorded a hit duet version of the song "Somethin’ Stupid." Nancy
also had a brief acting career in the mid-1960s including a co-starring role
with Elvis Presley in the movie Speedway (1968), and with Peter Fonda
in The Wild Angels (1966). In Marriage on the Rocks (1965), Frank and
Nancy Sinatra played a fictional father and daughter.

Upon it’s release, "Satisfaction" was a hit, giving the Stones
their first number one in the US. In 2004, Rolling Stone
magazine placed the song in the second spot on its list of
"The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time". It was added to the
National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress in
2006.

Bruce Frederick Joseph Springsteen will turn 68 in
September.

Morgan Freeman was born in Memphis, Tennessee.

When Morgan Freeman was nine years old, he played the lead role in a
school play. He turned down a drama scholarship at Jason State University
to work as a radar mechanic in the U.S. Air Force in 1955. Freeman won an
Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the Clint Eastwood
film Million Dollar Baby in 2005.

The newly developed 648-acre complex called Vanport before the
flood. It was the largest public housing project in the United States.

It was on this day, Memorial Day in 1948, the Columbia River forced it’s way
through an embankment that had served as a dike and rushed into a local
shipbuilding housing project called Vanport. The flood killed 15 people and 
left 18,000 homeless when the community vanished in just one day. 

The area today is called Delta Park, along the Columbia River in Portland,
Oregon’s northern edge, a location of public parks, nature preserves and
sports complexes.
