         Henry Ford, founder of the Ford Motor Company, astonished 
         the business world when he introduced a $5 per day minimum  
         wage to qualified workers. It was more than double the rate of 
         most of Ford’s employees. The move proved to be extremely 
         Profitable and raised productivity.

U.S. PRESIDENT BORN ON THIS DAY IN 1808

andrew johnson
Andrew Johnson was the 17th President of the United States,
following the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln. He
was in office from 1865 until 1869. Johnson was the first  U.S.
President to be impeached. Most political historians rated him
as being among the worst of this countries presidents.

DENZEL WASHINGTON IS 56 TODAY

Denzel won the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award in 1990 for
his role in GLORY. He also won a second Oscar for Best Actor in
2002 for his work in TRAINING DAY. Washington has also been
awarded two Golden Globe Awards and a Tony Award.
