NBC-TV presented Peter Pan live as part of Producers’ Showcase,with
the show’s original cast, as the first full-length Broadway production on
color TV. The show attracted a record audience of 65-million viewers
viewers. Mary Martin ( above) and Cyril Ritchard (below) had already
won Tony Awards for their stage performances, and Martin won an
Emmy Award for the television production.

CATHERINE O’HARA IS 57 TODAY
Catherine O’Hara is an actress and comedienne, well known for her work
on SCTV, and her roles in the films Beetlejuice (1988), and Home Alone
(1990). Most recently,Catherine she has appeared in the 2010 film Killers
and the HBO movie Temple Grandin, for which she was nominated for an
Emmy and Screen Actors Guild Award.

JUSTINE BATEMAN HAS TURNED 45
Justine Tanya Bateman is an actress, writer, and producer. Her television
career included a regular role as Mallory Keaton on the CBS sitcom Family
Ties from 1982 until 1989. She was nominated for two Emmy Awards and a
Golden Globe Award. Bateman currently runs a digital media production and
consulting company called Section 5.
PORTLAND’S MATT GROENING IS 57 TODAY
Matthew Abram "Matt" Groening, cartoonist, screenwriter and producer was
born in Portland, Oregon, the middle of five children. He attended Ainsworth
Elementary School and Lincoln High School. From 1972 to 1977, Groening
attended Evergreen State College Olympia, Washington. Groening is the
creator of the comic strip Life in Hell as well as two successful television
series, The Simpsons and Futurama. Groening has won 11 Primetime
Emmy Awards, ten for The Simpsons and one for Futurama.
